16 Mar 09 | Day 4 ~ Phillip Island

Day 4 and we headed to Philip Island for penguin parade! And the most important thing to highlight was my dear Justin drove all of us to Phillip Island! Wow, first time driving overseas and well, Australia is just like Malaysia. Nothing much except for the speed limit. Everyone in Australia follows the speed limit, if it is reduced to 40km/j.. everyone will just drive in 40km/j. Unlike in Msia, the lower the speed limit, the higher the accelerator goes!

We had some groceries shopping at COLES before we left to Phillip Island. I was so tempted to get this box of ice cream because it was soooo cheap! Extremely cheap compared to Msia. Only $6.88, if convert to RM is only RM17.20... OMG!!! Can you get this price in Msia... definitely not... too bad, I didn't get one because afraid that it will turn to yogurt when we reach the island.

Lunch at Korean Restaurant...

Kkanpoounggi : Sweet and spicy chicken $24 ~ Deep fried chicken with slicedcapsicum, cooked with garlic, peanuts and coated in a sweet and spicy sauce.

Tuna Kimchi Chigae $35 ~ A traditional soup base made with slightly browned kimchi cooked with fresh chilli, tofu and chunks of tuna.

Dweji Bulgogi : Marinated pork $14.30 ~ Korean style marinated pork, flavoured in a spicy-chilli or teriyaki style sauce sizzled with a combination of selected fresh vegetables.

After lunch... it was time for Grand Prix!! It took about 1.5 hours to reach Phillip Island from Clayton, Melbourne.

82km left.....

Along the way we stopped and have a picture with the Moos.....=D

Finally, we reached Phillip Island about 3pm and we stopped at the Tourist Information to get some tickets for Penguin Parade and also Koala Conservation Centre.

The big chubby koala sleeping.... kinda disasppointed with this Koala Conservation centre because out of the large square of jungle, I can only find 4-5 koalas on the tree. They were either too high up on the tree or they were sleeping. You don't get to cuddle them because they will stress! Sigh, all animals are easily get stress!

The Nobbies ~ Not far from the Penguin Parade at the far south-western trip of Phillip Island. A magnificent headland with boardwalks and lookout points offering spectacular coastal views. But there's much more to see than great views - the main drawcard of The Nobbies is the chance to view Australia's largest colony of fur seals, located 1km offshore.

Of course from here you are not able to see any seals on the rocks... you will need to join the Seal Cruise package. Unfortunately we do not have enough time for this!

Graffiti is also famous in Melbourne and even a van, they do not want to give up!

We were now at Penguin Parade, too bad, no photographs are allowed at the penguin parade. Afraid that they might stress! Again.. .stress..... ish! Why animals easily get stressed??? And this was captured after the parade, in the building. This was a real penguin! The best time to visit is at sunset/dusk if you wish to see the actual "penguin parade". This is when the penguins cross Summerland Beach to return to their sand-dune burrows. After a day fishing for food in the waters surrounding Phillip Island, the penguins make their way across Summerland Beach in groups. This delightful event is commonly known as the "penguin parade".

The penguin was actually in the burrow, changing its feather. And it can be inside here for months!

We reached home abou 9pm and look at the apartment that we rented at Phillip Island. It was so well equiped with all the facilities like dishwasher, oven, washing machine, machine dryer, tv, dvd, and etc etc... just like your house!

The food we bought from Coles for dinner!

Dinner time!!!
